NOTES ON THE I-APL CHARACTER SET

See the I-APL manual for the atomic vector order, or execute

 14 16r32k#AV

to see the displayable APL characters.

The KEYBOARD workspace prints the U.S. keyboard arrangement for the IBM
PC. Note that the arrangement given in the manual is for UK keyboards,
which are different from US keyboards.

Except for 08H (backspace) and 0DH (newline), all control characters
(characters with codes in the range 00H to 1FH, and 7FH) are reserved.

Characters with codes in the range 20H to 7FH are standard ASCII.

Characters with codes in the range 80H to 8FH are not used by I-APL.
They should be displayable, but it is not necessary to make them
 enterable.

Characters with codes in the range A0H to C0H, DBH to E0H, and FBH to
FFH are used by I-APL, and should be enterable and displayable.

Two additional alphabets are included: characters with codes in the
ranges C1H to DAH and E1H to FAH are nominally the underscored upper
case and underscored lower case letters respectively.

The APL stile (remainder, absolute value) is held to be different from
the ASCII broken stile "|", but they may display the same. The APL
carat (and) is held to be different from the ASCII circumflex "^", but
they may display the same. The APL tilde is held to be the same as the
ASCII tilde "~", and the APL star is held to be the same as the ASCII
 asterisk "*".
